IT firm advises stakeholders to partner FG to build youths capacity in technology
Mrs Oluwole Oluneye, the Chief Executive Officer, African Hub International has advised stakeholders in information technology to form a strategic partnership with the Federal Government toward building youth capacity in technology.
Oluneye said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.
According to her, it is necessary for government to create enabling environment where talented Nigerian youths can be trained on new inventions that will improve their skills for innovations.
“Collaboration between government and stakeholders will bring a better future for youths engaging in technology.
“Every sector has to come together to build innovations which will direct the way we live and the way we do things in a more advanced way.
“Most Nigerian youths that choose career in information technology need to be trained to get acquainted with current trends in technology,” Oluneye said.
She urged the government to facilitate and deploy more science teachers into secondary schools across the country to encourage more youths to build career in IT to develop the country.
She said that the contribution of the technology industry to Nigeria’s progress became significant as it was obvious that the backbone of leading economies in the world “today is hinged on technology and entrepreneurship’’.
Oluneye also urged government to look into boosting the external factors such as power, internet speed, cost, security and financial support
“Countries like Japan and China created enabling environment for their IT sector and it revamp their economies.
“With the current diversification going on, IT can improve the economy if the right policies are in place, “she said.
On the side of African Hub international, she said that the company provided services such as workstations which include meeting and training rooms for its clients.
“It also provide virtual office plans, co-creation spaces and access to uninterrupted power supply high speed wireless internet connection, professional and friendly front office,’’ she said.
